Since the Career Connect NW Regional Network was established at the NWESD 189 in 2021, approximately $2,550,000 has been secured for the NW 5 county region through CCW Program builder funding to develop career connected learning experiences and pathways - ultimately leading to prepared job seekers in the future. In addition, our network has added 2 Registered Apprenticeship Career Launch programs and 14 Career Launch programs with $1,075,000 in grant awards to support instructional FTEs and equipment.
Each of our partner economic development organizations is a current collaborator with the existing Career Connect Washington NW Team and works to create professional, pro-active economic development programs targeted at attracting new, family-wage, primary industry jobs through business recruitment, retention and expansion, and community capacity building. Over the course of the last year, examples of collaboration with the CCWNW Network and our various organizations include:
● Partnering through Economic Alliance Snohomish County on the North Puget Sound Small Business Summit with Everett Community College, Edmonds and Everett School Districts, and Sno-Isle TECH Skills Center in Snohomish on a panel discussion with 75+ attendees.
● Partnering through Economic Development Alliance of Skagit County on the Skagit Workforce Summit with Northwest Career & Technical Academy (NCTA) and Skagit Valley College in Skagit County where the career connected learning continuum (Explore/Prep/Launch) was introduced to 90+ attendees.
● Supporting the Snohomish County Future Workforce Alliance and Workforce Snohomish to engage in the Workforce Partner Roundtable, as well as the Future Workforce Alliance Youth Working Group focused on apprenticeship opportunities.
● Partnering with the NW Workforce Council to organize the WAVE (Washington Apprenticeship Vocational Education) Tour, which introduced 400 people from 25+ high schools and programs to re gional apprenticeship opportunities in a hands-on environment.
